EU plans to cut Russian gas imports by two-thirds in a year

The EU has published plans, trailed earlier this week, to cut its Russian gas imports by two-thirds by the end of the year, the Financial Times reports, adding that the bloc currently gets 40% of its gas from Russia. It continues: “Frans Timmermans, European Green Deal commissioner, said the bloc could import more liquefied natural gas, rapidly boost renewable energy generation and cut demand with efficiency measures.
